Extremadura is one of Spain's best-kept travel secrets. Geographically, Extremadura is a wonderfully inviting mix of mountain ranges, scenic meadows and panoramic fields. The land has remained pretty much unchanged for centuries which makes it is an attractive destination for travellers who like to get off the beaten track.

Pals Medieval Village - Spain

Pals is a medieval town in Catalonia a few kilometres from the sea in the heart of the Bay of Emporda on the Costa Brava. It has a historic centre on a hill surrounded by plains with an ancient Romanesque tower, a Gothic Quarter and cobbled streets interrupted by semicircular arches, façades with pointed arched windows and stone balconies.

In Madrid, if you must rely on street names you will not find them hanging from a traffic light or on an obvious street post. Instead you will find your street (calle) decoratively painted on tiling against the side of a building usually near an intersection.   More...

Alcalá de Henares is a city belonging to the Community of Madrid (Spain) situated in the River Henares, east of the region. 34 km far from the capital, 22 km from the nearby Guadalajara. It is the capital of Comarca de Alcalá. Its name means "castle on the river of Henares".
