Hi,

My girlfriend and me are thinking of going to Fiji some time between October and December this year. Are there any surfing spots that you can recommend?Or what beach should we head to? We are not very experienced surfers (body boarding actually) so we would prefer if the waves were not too big and preferably beach breaks. Ideally, it wouldn't be a busy and full of tourists/surfers place but rather quiet, relaxing, paradise like. I would also like to know some good places to get traditional Fiji food, that wouldn't be too expensive and overcrowded.

Thanks for all replies in advance.

Cheers

hey camila...

i would love help out... its actually right timing as i currently moved to nadi, and am working on to establish a tourist awareness program, its more like a information center... i have a bar/cafe/nightclub from where i would start off from...

there's a lot of companies who provide package deals and tours but they are sometimes ridiculously unreasonable and expensive...

nadi is the tourist hub of fiji, the international airport is here plus all the major hotels...

to really enjoy fiji, you dont really have to get a package deal... you just pick out the places and activities you wanna get involved in and we will advice you how to go bout doing it so it be cheaper and worth the price...

for us this is not a profit making business... this is just to make it easier and cheaper for our patrons of the club to enjoy fiji...

ok, bout the surfing part... there a couple of spots on the main island... majority beach break... i recommend natadola as its not far from the airport, it has decent surf, beach break... and is one of the best beaches in the world... not crowded at all very peacefull...

and then there's places in rakiraki, tavarua, waidroka...

if i get in touch with u when you fiji, i will recommnd accomodation as well, so you dont end up paying tourist rate..

at the end of the day you wanna make most of the money you spend, right.. i had enough of watching some of this unethical companies ripping people off....

cheers...

ron

hey,
yes ron is right. Natadola is the best beach to surf here in fiji. its secluded and hardly anyone goes there. and you don't need to pay all that money to experience the best fiji can offer you.as far as traditional fijian food goes....i suggest you spend a night or two in any fijian village to experience it first hand....plus....the company is always great....am strictly speaking as a fijian...fijian homecooked meal is the best...just my suggestions....any questions feel free to ask....
