Hello,
I am planning our 10 day honeymoon at the end of August and was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions on things to do and areas to stay in? This is our first time to Belize and we haven't booked at any hotels yet so we are free to travel around.

Since it's our honeymoon, we wouldn't mind some romantic place to visit and see enjoy some beautiful sunsets. Also, we would love to experience the culture. My fiance is really into scuba diving and we would love to do other physical activities (zip trekking, etc.). Where would be the best beaches (white sand, clear waters) in Belize? Does anyone know the weather during August?

I've heard that Ambergis Caye, Placencia and Caye Caulker are nice places to visit. It was also suggested to stay in a lodge in a tropical forest.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Hello and we welcome visitors to our jewel! I am originally from Placencia so I would recommend that is the primary destination for scuba, snorkeling, fishing and for the best beaches and clear waters! Wow! My cousin has a dive shop 'Night Wind' which offers great tours to the cayes and Monkey River Baboon tours, Cockscomb inland tours and much more....Tobacco Caye is another great place to visit, it's a small island east of Dangriga Town and is located on the reef - a beautiful site! San Pedro is good if u like the crowds! They have the reef in front as well with some reserves where u can dive and see protected species! Caye Caulker is a little better but getting crowded as well! Nevertheless they each have their own attraction! Inland - u can visit 'Jaguar Paw Resort' an excellent adventure for ziplining and rock climbing among other adventures! Most of these places are accessible by air or road within a few minutes to a few hours!
I hope your stay will be a blast! Belize is a tropical country and although Aug is in the middle of the hurricane season, we normally experience calm weather with ocassional rains! Nothing to deter your fun!
I am Melanie Eiley and I totally recommend you coming to my country as you will take fun memories and great pictures!

Hi since you haven't booked anywhere u can enjoy many different places for one if you want to explore the inland rainforest you must visit the maya ruins in the Cayo district.... Scuba diving , take a plunge in the second largest barrier reef. Spend a night in the most beautiful honeymoon sweet in Caves Branch where the room is located in a tree house can you believe that. Caves Branch also offers delicios buffet style three course meals, cave tubing, black hole drop) want good food adventure and relaxation the place to visit is Old Belize. As you mentioned Cayecaulker,Placencia, Ambergris are also veruy beautiful and very romantic.... i can go on and on but i'm at work kinda busy i hope this helps.

Hi i am a belizean, and i suggest Placencia its very beautiful, romantic and has a lot of friendlies. Also u would be in the hear of the culture in belize, its in the south where most of the cultural ppl are located. Eg. the Garifuna and the Maya ppl.An also placencia has many piers where u can see the sunset in the evening. An if u like u can also go to San Pedro where it is as similar as placencia.

HI, Congratulation and welcome to Belize. Glad you choose Belize. You will find that Both Placencia and San Pedro will full fill all your needs for a romantic get away. Depending on your budget, you can settle down on a private isladn, Caye Espanto or go to Francis Ford Copola's beach resort in Placencia, Turtle Inn. Five Sisters Falls in the mountains or Jaguar Paw in the Jungle. For dive in Placencia, I would go with Avadon Divers or you can do a liveaboard for a week on The Sun Dancer II diving at it's best.

Enjoy.

Hello,
Based on your interest, i would recommend for beaches and scuba diving that you visit San Pedro Ambergis Caye. The beaches are lovely and there is a variety of exciting activities that one can engage in on and off shore once there. Placencia is also nice but lacks the variety that San Pedro offers. San Pedro offers services to suit a variety of needs. Caye Caulker is also minutes away from san Pedro and offers quiet a variety as well but not as developed as San Pedro. If you are looking for a more unique rain forest adventure with the zip trekking package, canoeing , visits to the mayan temples etc. then you may want to try Cayo District. My personal favourite is the quiet Chaa Creek Lodge which is just minutes away from San Ignacio Town and is surrounded by many scenic interests including the mayan temples and several interesting caves. August is a lovely month to visit. The weather is usually cool. Hope this helps
